One thing I like about Mountain House meals is all of the mess is inside the bag, and I don't need to clean my stove pot because I just use it to boil water. Then I can easily put my empty MH meal bags into my bear canister and pack them out.

Now when it comes to coffee or hot chocolate, which would be great on cool mornings, does anyone know of a similar packaging system? What I'm looking for is a small prepackaged bag that contains coffee/hot chocolate and I'd just need to add hot water.

Alternatively if nothing like this exists, does anyone know if a ziploc style bag that is small and also robust enough to accept hot/boiling water, so I could make my own? I suppose I could save old Mountain House bags, wash them at home, and then use them for this purpose.

You can buy bulk rolls of Foodsaver bags and make any size shape you want. I guess a tall skinny one would work, but without a gusseted bottom it won't stand by itself. Plus holding on to a boiling hot bag may be difficult.

I bring a Ti cup.

Hmmmm, you have inspired me to use an old MH bag for a Carafe. I can dump in my Trader Joe's instant with cream/sugar or maybe even that Costco cappucino instant, then fill it with the appropriate amount of boiled water, shake, shake, shake…and then serve frothy, hot coffee to the whole crew.

Of course, they're still gonna have to use a cup or bowl. Me, an IV connected to the bottom of the bag.
