Is there anywhere online where I could find decent info on how ventilated back panels perform in reducing perspiration on the back? Thanks.

Nope! None of the pack makers include any tests or comparison data. Just marketing speak.
On the other hand, you can do a search of the various forums. Some users wrote that they noticed a difference. Others said that once you start sweating — and you will eventually — then it's pretty much all the same…
Isn't your Osprey ventilated in the back? What's your assessment in comparison with other packs?
Hi Ben,
Yup, the only info I can find is the anecdotal kind on other forums. I know that deuter claimed one of their systems reduced back sweat by 25%. I'm not sure what the difference is between 75% wet and 100% wet though.
Regarding the osprey, it's tough to say. Some days, I'd sweat, some days not. But because I'm not carrying another pack with me for comparison I could attribute that difference to a hundred other factors totally unrelated to ambient temperature.
Did you notice any benefit with your Eagle Creek pack while in Asia?
Aaron
