I'm planning a section hike of the AT for the third week of July this year.
It seems like Roanoke, VA is the nearest airport with a $583.00 round trip flight to and from New Orleans. There is also another $50.00 for a round trip checked bag. Trekking poles! ;-?
So far it seems like I'll be sinking an additional $175.00 into shuttles to and from the trail heads.
Does anyone on this forum have any inside scoop on cheaper rates for flights or shuttles?
