I'm going to make a cuben rain skirt. I've settled on Gutterman Mara and some tiny needles (size 9). For the drawstring exit, I had planned to use my sewing machines auto-buttonholer. Is this a terrible idea? Are there any better ones? Should I just hem it like a stuff sack (slice it in the center, make a fabric tuck (hem))?

Cheers
May 4, 2012 at 4:20 pm #1874487Maybe a metal eyelet would work? I use them as drain holes in cuben pack pockets. The 1/16" and the larger 3/32" shock cord fits. Joe @ Zpacks also uses them for drain holes in cuben packs.
