Hey Everyone,

I just got a ULA Circuit and was wondering if anyone could share how they've shaved off some weight. I already removed the water bottle holders, the hydration sleeve and the mesh pouch . I will be taking taking it out for a weekend trip where I will see how it functions in the field and will mark where I need all the straps so I can trim them without regret.

This is the first pack I have trimmed that is worth some $$ so I'm very interested in hearing about what others have tried.

Be good,

Brad

Hi Brad,

I bought a circuit about a year ago. I did all the same things as you as well as trimming all the straps pretty heavily and taking out the stay. I would recommend taking the pack out once or twice and marking where you actually pull on the straps with tape, then cutting off the excess. It's easier to cut more off then have to sew more on. However, even after all that I only dropped it by 6-7 ounces.

Good luck and let me know what you decide!

So far i have cut off: h2o labels, internal bladder loops and d-rings on shoulder straps. I have an older Circuit that has a draw cord top with cord lock which I have replaced with lighter line and micro cord lock. I have considered cutting off compression straps, load lifters and ice axe loops. I find that much of the weight is in the hip belt though.
