My trip is several weeks away, so I haven't gotten to the gritty details, but here's how I think my list would look like: (1 night summer)
Six moons designs starlite pack: 25 oz
Enlightened equiptment 25 degree synthetic quilt: 24 oz
2 persontarp tent (REI quarter dome t2 rainfly propped up with stick): 16 oz (32 oz divided 2 ways)
Trimmed closed cell ridge rest pad: 6 ozcloths including fleece, rain jacket, sweatpants, extra socks, hat, sunglasses: 32 oz
esbit stove: 5 oz
45 feet cord for bear bag hanging: 3 oz
Misc. like recycled water bottles, trash bags, compass, anything small and last minute: 8 oztotal: 124 oz about 8 lbs
Also, I plan to carry 1.5 lbs water at any one time and max 2.5 lbs food for a 12 lb max pack weight

Five ounces is an awful lot for an Esbit stove. The two that I have are either a half-ounce or a quarter-ounce.

Apr 24, 2012 at 4:03 pm #1870744Not many details in your list to provide constructive comments (i.e., anything small and last minute). Validation of your list should be as much about function as weight. A few things that come to mind that I do not see in your list but may be needed
Water treatment/filter
Cooking pot
Bivy for bugs? or at least a groundsheet
First Aid kit
Hygiene KitApr 24, 2012 at 4:17 pm #1870755Here is my 8.5 lb 3 season list with a 2P pot. I just cut this out of my spreadsheet. I will deal with minimal pad for 2 or 3 nights on the ground, but longer trips a more comfy 15 ozpad is coming and Ill take the penalty.
