Hey all,

I'm looking for a decent tarp setup for under $150, I prefer designs like the six moon designs skyscape – scout, or the golite shangri-la 1 (onsale now). Can't quite find any other comparable lightweight brands. I like the idea of having a nest (is that the bug netting?) and floor available if I want to use them, also being able to only utilize the tarp. Setup using just the trekking poles and guylines. I am on a bit of a budget but still want to stay light. Any guidance as to where to search more or item recommendations would be great.

I have a shangri la 1 flysheet only that I picked up for 70 bucks. It weighs 1 lb 2 oz with stakes, and I added line so I can pitch it up to a foot higher off the ground during warm weather. To go inside of that when there is bugs/wet ground I bought a bug bivy from borah gear seen here: http://ulgear.blogspot.com/p/bug-bivy.html

6.5 oz on the bivy, so only 24.7 oz for a modular shelter, and cost under 150. I haven't been on any week long trips yet with either pieces of gear though.

I had also considered this company for net tents/tarps: http://www.bearpawwd.com/shelters_floors/minimalist1_bivy.html

Both owners were super responsive with emails, and eager to make custom orders/help me get what I needed. Those sites also sell flat tarps.
