Nice job – that will keep you really warm for the weight

The extra length – you're gonna love it.

    I really like your vest.

Very nice–like the pullover and short zip.

I am about the make the exact same thing with my last bit of the kelty green group buy on TiGoat's website. I am excited about the 5.1 oz weight. I am debating between a more athletic cut and a full zip or a little more lose fit and a 1/3 to 1/2 zip.

Are you happy with the lenght of your zipper?

I use a similar vest although heavier.

I think a full length zipper is much better because it allows you to better regulate warmth so you don't overheat and sweat.

Full length zipper might add 1/2 ounce?

Good point Jerry, thanks. Versatility was my original reason for the full length zip, but I do like the simplicity of my 1/2 zip winter down pull over. Full zip it is. Now I just have to make it, the insulation came in yesterday so any day now I will start putting it together.

Did you only need to sew Apex to the fabric around the edges to get it to stay in its place all the time?

@Jeremy Osburn – Are you happy with the lenght of your zipper?
Yes I like half zipper (got half zipper on merino hoody / BPL cocoon / wind shell…)

    half zipper pros:
    warmer
    lighter

    half zipper cons:
    harder to make
    no athletic cut

Ohh yes ! Apex don't need any quilting.
I got a MLD Spirit quilt made with Climashield Apex for 2 years : not any quilting & Apex hasn't moved.

Climashield is the very best choice of synthetic insulation.

Congrats on a good design that is well executed.
