Anybody ever been to Hazel Creek, just off of Fontana Lake in the Smokies? I am tagging along with my broter-in-law and a friend the weekend of May 10. We are taking a boat to cross the lake to get to Hazel Creek. Any trails in this area? I hear the fishing is great. I get the feeling this will be more of a "base camp" type of trip with day hikes.

I’ve only been on the very upstream part, from Silers Bald to maybe half mile below Jonas Creek Trail. Fishing is pretty popular from what I’ve read.
