Do you guys like cheezits on the trail? I bring them a lot. They taste great and have 150 calories per ounce.

I like Cheez-its. I like all kinds of junk food. I ate donuts for breakfast every morning for 5 days once. It worked out better than I expected. :)
It occurred to me that things like chips, cookies and donuts are ideal for backpacking.
I can't remember the guys name, but over on WhiteBlaze there's a story of a guy who did the entire AT on 4 honey buns a day.
I wish I liked them they seem like good energy food.
Cheez-its are disgusting – white flour, artificial cheese flavoring,…
and if you leave a box with me I'll gobble it all down before I know what happened…
Brilliant! Mike Clelland! got me turned onto packing Fritos for lunch (in addition to my usual PB&J) but I never thought of Cheez-Its. I've had heartburn from eating a whole big bag of Fritos on one car trip but never had heartburn from eating a whole box of Cheez-Its!
OP – You just saved me the weight of at least a couple Zantac…Thanks!
Not in the past 7 years :-( Don't miss them anymore though.
Thanks! I'll have to add those to my no-cook food spreadsheet right next to the really big Snickers, huge Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Hostess Mini Donuts, Salami & Cheese, raw almonds, cowboy coffee, Pringles, Fritos… No wonder that I like stay on the trail for 3 to 5 days at a time. When else can you eat this well?
FYI:
annie's, kashi, and late july all make less junk-ladened versions of the original.
i DO like the bulk sesame stix you can buy at the helath food store (and some grocery stores) that actually come in a cajun spice variety. they don't crush and are far more nutritional. lt
Are you kidding me? They are the best! The kids love 'em too.
but…. but…. 150 calories!!!! Per ounce!!!!
sesame stix easily rival cheez-its.

A huge +1. They're the best. There are several tasty varieties, and some of them have up to 159 calories, at least at Whole Foods.
