Given the numerous postings, I think we all know everything there is to know about Henry Shires and Six Moon Designs tarptents. But what about Hilleberg’s 2006 tarptent entry: Rajd? Any feedback from users or comments from the curious?

Rajd Reviews on BpGT.org

Not for the Rajd, but for a number of other pieces of gear the names of some VERY familiar BPL Staffers (off the top of my head i can think of three Staffers, but i hesitate to mention them in case i’ve forgotten any others). Additionally, some very knowledgeable and experienced backpackers (like Mark Verber and Curt Peterson) will be found there as testers.

I was one of the Rajd testers. Very cool tent. Super short summary:

Pros – incredible construction quality, clever design features that are unlike anything I've seen before, slightly beefier version of silnylon, excellent pre-measured and strung guylines, excellent stakes, double-doors are great, double beaks can be rolled back, weight of 2,2 includes all the guylines and stakes – it's very light for a 2 person double door shelter. One piece to pack and pitch.

Cons – not for humid climates as it suffers condensation problems due to limited mesh. Requires 10 stakes to pitch – fine for tarpers, a pain for tenters.

Happy to answer any specifics.

I'm 6'3" and didn't have any problems with length. I'm not sure what it's listed at, but it certainly shouldn't be an issue if you're not NBA tall.
