Help..Golite SL2, Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 or Nemo Meta 2P

A while back, I considered but always ended up avoiding the Nemo Meta 2P as I thought it was on the heavy side for how much tent space/volume you got out of it… Haven't any experience in the others you mention. Probably doesn't do you much good as you may not get a mfr's deal on it, but the REI Quarter Dome T2,T2+,T3 series are nice double-wall designs that are very spacious. My wife and I have a QD T2+ and its a great design – just a bit heavier than what the cottage industry achieves. Our QD is semi-replaced by a Tarptent SS2.

Well the last SS2 I shipped out from here (Melbourne) was to a guy that has the Nemo Meta 2. (he also happens to have a Scarp 1)
He finds the TT to have more headroom so he does not rub his bold head against the wet fly.
As a bonus he has bigger vestibules and a lower weight and yes if he wants he can also set it up fly only.
So, it is always very tempting to buy at a discount but I for one when I was getting industry discounts (IE staff prices) bought my first TT retail…
BTW I know several people that work in the industry here that have either of those non mainstream brands you mention, so I am not alone.
My point here is : buy the one you like not the one you save most money on it.

Oh yeah, I am 6'3" so my options have been kind of limited and must fit a 25" pad with room to spare for my wife and her normal sized pad. I will take another look at TT and others, still leaning towards the GoLite SL2.

I'm a big fan of the Shangrila 2. It uses its footprint well, deals decently with wind, and very well with snow and rain. It will be more than long enough, and wide enough for big pads. With two people it does feel a bit small because while the max height is considerable, the walls slope quite a bit. If your wife might find this objectionable, and thus go backpacking less, it's probably worth getting something else.

A Shangrila 3 would have comparable flexibility, more space, and better headroom/liveability. If you use trekking poles the weight savings is also good.

The TT SS2 will easily accept 2 25" wide neoairs (as does our quarter dome T2+). That's a requirement for my 2 person tents these days…

I destroyed my ankle and am selling a lot of gear to raise money for medical bills (no ins.) and have a Meta 2 if that is the direction you want to go.

I've used flat tarps, Golite SL3, Scarp 2, Hogback, Moment, and the BA Copper Spur UL1. For now, I've settled on the CS UL1 for solo use, and the Scarp 2/Hogback for when more people are along.

Keeping the wife happy cannot be underestimated. :)
