Thanks for the post. I Just picked one of the Shangri-La's from the website. I had been looking at a lighter shelter for a while.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I spoke to a Golite rep on the nest and she said that it is the older style nest that does not have the side toggles that attach to the outer flysheet for greater side/shoulder room. The description indicated that it had them but the accompanying photo didn't show them so I contacted Golite for verification. Still a great price but may have some of the "drooping" problems some users have complained about.

So they are selling the older model nest as clearance now? Funny, because I ordered the SL1 set not a month ago and returned it because it didn't have those toggles. I spoke with customer service about that specifically before making the purchase and was assured I'd be getting the newer version, I did not.

I just got an email from golite. This customer service rep told me he went to the warehouse and physically checked the SL 1 Nest. I'm not sure if he understood my question correct about the side loops though….who knows, I bought one and should get it by friday.

Nickolas,

The Shangri-La 1 nest that I just inspected did have external clips on the peaks. I believe the issue had been specific to the SL-2 nest, but I’m not positive either. Hope that helps.

and another one after i clarified my question:
Nicholas,

The Shangri-La 1 only has one toggle point and it’s near the door. The foot end doesn’t have them as it is only about 2’ of seam on the mesh, and these walls can be pulled tight from the stake.
