I have received numerous requests the the GGG should be bi-annual. This suits me fine. So maybe this one we could do in October?
And I like doing the other one in January
This one is at Point Reyes. Oct.19-21 2012. Coast Camp, spot 13.
Another Edit. I have a couple of open spots

So the GGG swings both ways. How California….
Apr 6, 2012 at 7:06 pm #1864571I think it would be wonderful if we could have an event as memorable as that motorcycle rally The Wild One is loosely based on.
Apr 6, 2012 at 7:40 pm #1864576^^^^^^^hilarious!
Apr 6, 2012 at 10:15 pm #1864621If it's middle to late October, I might come down for it! I will want to visit my daughter in Petaluma about then!
Early October in the Pacific Northwest is Alpine season in northern Washington, so no way would I go elsewhere then! For those who haven't seen our larch trees that turn gold in the fall (IMHO, rivaling the mallorn trees in Lord of the Rings), come on up! The Alpine larch (at higher elevations) is usually best in early October, while the Western larch (at lower elevations) is best about mid-October.
Apr 7, 2012 at 9:34 am #1864716I realize this might not be the best weekend to put the question out there. I'll bump again next week.
Happy Easter.
Apr 7, 2012 at 1:35 pm #1864783I'd like a second event as well. Trinity Alps certainly was beautiful mid-October last year. Perhaps rotating locations to include other members and to see some different country as well?
Apr 7, 2012 at 4:22 pm #1864819It would be nice to hang out with everyone again. October would be perfect.

Apr 8, 2012 at 2:39 am #1864909Sounds fun, the coast can be really nice in Fall.
Apr 8, 2012 at 7:45 am #1864939Sounds like a great idea. Let me know how I can help. I live about 45 min from Pt Reyes.
Apr 8, 2012 at 7:59 am #1864942Go back to our roots for a limited number of guests at beautiful Point Reyes. Attendance will be limited, as the rules are more enforced here.
Somewhere between 30-50 people.Coast or Wildcat Camps?
Mid October 2012
Edit: Coast Camp spot 13 Oct 19-21 2012
Apr 8, 2012 at 8:02 am #1864943Which do you guys like better? We historically stayed at Wildcat.
Apr 8, 2012 at 8:11 am #1864948I need to make the reservations mid April if we want any chance of getting the space we want.
Thinking about October 19-21, that's a Friday through Sunday.
Have family fun planned for the big 5.0!
Apr 8, 2012 at 10:39 am #1865002Ken, thanks for leading the charge again.
Apr 8, 2012 at 1:38 pm #1865039I've never met any of you but I'd be interested in joining you if that would be allowed. Is it only for peoplr who have been before?
Apr 8, 2012 at 1:57 pm #1865043It's all about making friends. Rowan, just keep an eye on this thread and you will be in the loop.
Apr 8, 2012 at 4:10 pm #1865086I like Wildcat better – the group sites seem to be closer together.
Apr 8, 2012 at 4:15 pm #1865090OK. So the consensus is that Wildcat suits everyone fine. I'll do the reservation thing next week. I will then update here.
Edit: Guest list is full right now. I'll update that if/when it changes.
Apr 21, 2012 at 6:18 pm #1869762OK. So I made the reservation today. Went with a group spot at Coast Camp. Spot number 13. Spot at Wildcat was already taken.
This gives us room for 25. Let me go through the messages and see what we are up to.I know it is still a long way off, but I'm already excited to see you all again.
Apr 21, 2012 at 6:19 pm #1869763I'd like to go.
Apr 21, 2012 at 6:38 pm #1869767Used the new online reservation system. Of course the Feds have a different site than everyone else. Pretty painless, though you do have to register. No reservation fee unlike ReserveUSA, so that's a plus. Is it just me or have rates gone up? Was $100 for both nights. I think I paid $80 last time. We will have easy access to haul in our own wood and excesses. Reyes is such a cool park. With all the trails crisscrossing each other you can take as long a hike into camp as you want, Also easy to do hikes right from camp.
My first time staying at Coast.Apr 21, 2012 at 6:54 pm #1869771Will this override any chance for a fall Trinity Alps trip?
Apr 21, 2012 at 7:00 pm #1869772No.
Apr 22, 2012 at 12:53 pm #1869943All right, here is the latest. I have a full list of 25 persons. If someone would like to reserve another spot, please do. Don't put it off either. The spots do go quick year round there. This is why I made plans 6 months in advance. Once again, We will be at Coast Camp #13
If you would like to go and want to be on the standby list, please post here and you will be added in order.
Apr 23, 2012 at 8:30 am #1870163I would like to be added to the standby list.
