Sawyer Squeeze water filter Questions

My question is for those that may have used this on Washington's coast. On parts of the coast the water is heavy with tanic acid and clogs filters. Has anyone used this in those inviroments where the regular pump filters have been clogged. What were your experiences with this filter in those conditions.
