I would just like some input on which features to consider before ordering the modified mesh pyra 1 inner from bearpawwd for my Golite Shangri-la 3. I have just enough funds to go with the cuben floor and lower weight mesh but I don't know how neccessary it is. The only option I'm sure on is the iverted T zip.
This setup may end up being my primary shelter. I hesitate to splurge because I could use the extra money for additional gear that I would like (not need) and my backpacking budget is closely moderated by the wife…
The weight savings overall with the cuben and lighter mesh is miniscule, about 3.5oz. The lighter mesh stretches more and it would be nice to have a cuben floor…What are your opinions? The majority of my campsites are soft pine needled areas and occasional rocky terrain. I usually carry a 2mil plastic ground sheet for those times. Primarily 3 season use. Thanks in advance for any input.
