Help with Granite Gear Virga size question

I dont think the sizing is gonna matter as much with the virga as it does not have a moulded or fitted hipbelt just a web belt that you would not carry that much weight on but really just stabilize the load. My vapor trail is a large and I dont think a regular would fit me well. my virga is a reg and the little ive carried it its working out fine but im carrying the weight on my shoulders. Does this make sense?

Thanks, Mark. That does make sense. Still, may as well get as close as I can to ideal. By any chance, have you used REI, Osprey or Golite packs? And if so, how did sizing of Medium and/or Large feel for those?

William I also have a osprey aether 60 large but it has an adjustable torso so not much to compare. What is your torso length?

I measure about 19", and that seems to correspond pretty well to REI pack sizing and their measurement specs. Medium's too short, large (18-20) is just about right, and also to the older non-adjustable Osprey Atmos sizing. It does not correspond well to Golite sizing – according to specs, I should be a medium (17.5-19.5"), but I need a large. Virga sizing looks potentially so different from others that it's hard to know without asking questions. If the "long" is their equivalent of large, the spec'd inches (21-25) seems huge – not even overlapping with REI's large. If the long is more of an extra large, then it makes more sense, and is almost certainly bigger than I'd need.
