What holds up better to frequent washing – Long fiber synthetics (Polarguard), or budget down (550-650 wt) ? How much worse do short fiber synthetics hold up to frequent washing ?

(Assume washing will be done using a "large" home-model front loading washer and dryer.)

I don't think you need to worry so much about the washing – provided you use the correct water temp and detergent for your material – as you need to worry about the drying in a machine by using the low temp in a big tumble drum machine.

Other than that, I think both will last about equally.
