The book is out, and web-responses, interviews, and reviews are proliferating.

Here are two: one by Mark Bittman, and one by Eleanor West

I won’t try to thumbnail it … ok, maybe I will. You do better when you eat intentionally and eat healthy. You may do that on more than one kind of “diet,” though the thing they seem to share is lots of vegetables.

Versus unintentional eating…not sure how one goes about getting food in their mouths without knowing it ; ).

I'm actually reading "Thinking, Fast and Slow," by Daniel Kahneman, right now. There are all sorts of interesting parallels about brains and energy. Thinking hard (like navigating) takes glucose, but so does self-control (like eating intentionally).

When you give someone a sugary snack between tests of self-control they do better on the next test(!). LOL, I'm not sure if that says how to manage it, or if it means there is no way to win.
