I have an opportunity to obtain a number of different sleeping bags at very low price and was curious to get some input regarding the bags which I was considering. Because my funds are limited at this time I was considering purchasing a 45 degree bag for warm weather camping and then utilizing a Thermolite Extreme Reactor for cooler temperatures.
I was looking at the Mountain Hardwear Phantom 45. I figured as a warm sleeper I could carry this bag for 1lb 3oz (Long Size) and once I add in a cool weather liner, (given the Phantom's good EN rating) I would have a 2LB 1oz bag suitable for around 25 degree temperatures. Does anyone use a system like this?
I'm not sure how effective one of those liners would be, the reviews seem to go all across the board.
