My new blog post may be of interest to any of you photographer out there. I talk about my camera attachment system & MYOG Cuben Fibre camera cover that I have made for the PCT. Overall I am very happy with how the system works, so it may be of interest for any togs out there.

I had one problem with a system similar to yours, used a metal ring linked climbing runner, this was connected to the camera at the side lug, eventualy the friction of the ring ate the lug trough, you might be luckier attaching the strap to the tripod screw, a bit like gordy's straps.
