Sealant for a pack

I am reviving my old Kelty Alpine pack.
I bought this pack in 1974 – Yikes.

Its Cordura nylon but all the water proofing has flaked off.

What is the best way and material to use to re-waterproof it, like brush a very thin
layer on the inside ??

I assume it would be some sort of thinned out Silicone ??
