As I am getting older, I can no longer go on long runs in the rain without getting sick. I used to scoff at people as they wore shells when they ran. Now I understand and I am the dumb one. I am looking at the Kinetic as a light weight shell to use while running in the wet season. I have a few questions:

A. If you have one, can you give me your opinion ?

B. Can you make similar recommendations?

C. What is the price that these are going for, I can not find anything on the web.

Thank you, you guys are great!

I have one that I bought used here.

I really like it but thankfully haven't had to use it much.

It seems like it would be too stuffy to run in, but I don't really know.

Do you think a Houdini or Ether would be better?

The Kinetic is a great jacket. It is light weight and has a fantastic hood that can be manipulated in many ways and fastened down when not in use. It does not obscure peripheral vision. The coat is fully seam taped. The pockets are huge and lined with mesh making them multi-purpose vents. The sleeves are very long in a good way and have velcro closures which I've actually used as thumb loops. The length covers your rear well. I highly recommend the jacket. My only concern is that it might not breathe well enough for running. I think a wind shirt would wet out in heavier rain though and barring Event I'm not sure what would work better. It's Pertex Shield for reference. The Kinetic can be bought on sale for about $80. In a large it also layers over a large Montbell Alpine Light Parka well when at rest.

They've done a few versions of the Kinetic. The one on their website is new for this spring so stock may not have reached the USA yet. Main difference is moving to the lighter/more breathable (if less durable) shield+ stuff.

For alternatives, well see that round up on the main page here :) The kinetic is basically a pulse jacket with two pockets and elastic cuffs (and consequently a bit more weight.).

You can't find anything on the web? Where are you? I got this in 2 secs.

http://www.rockandsnow.com/store/product/45924/Rab-Kinetic-Jacket/ $59 XL

Prices go up to $140 if you're unlucky on size vs sales. At those higher prices you're getting into the realms that more breathable fabrics exist for similar $ such as Marmot Aegis which at least has pitzips.

If you want Pertex Shield then one with pitzips is the GoLite Tumalo.

I am in OH. For my search results all I got was Backcountry and Amazon which both had womens models for $140.
