Anybody tried this? It's relatively new; 800 fill down, waterproof shell, rated to 19 degrees, just under 2 lbs for the regular, $70.00 cheaper than a Marmot Helium…hmmm. With the 20% coupon and a rebate, this is doable…This bag is en rated as well, for what it's worth…I'd probably trust the Helium to be reasonable at 10 degrees in a tent with clothes; could I trust this rei bag to be reasonable at 15? It has I believe 14 ozs of down (I'll have to go back and check); it all adds up. Any comments would be welcome.

Are you sure you want a sleeping bag with a waterproof shell? Have you ever slept in one? For me it's kind of like the difference between sleeping in my rainsuit or my favorite silk pajamas. I prefer pajamas.

based on the numbers

– the helium has more down, 19.5 vs 14.7 oz
– the helium en-tests slightly warmer at 16F vs. 19F
– the helium is heavier at 38 vs 31 oz
– the helium has more girth at 62 vs 60 in
– there is effectively no price difference as you can get the helium on sale go here … http://www.spadout.com/store.php?stpr_id=1917&szer_clearall

so depends if you want a slightly less warm bag, at 7 oz savings with a bit less room inside for the same price … will 7 oz kill you ;)

I have the regular Helium (non membrane). Mine weighs 34.5 oz without the stuff sack. The stuff sack is an additional 0.7 oz.
I have used mine cowboy camping in 17 F temps comfortably, granted with heavy weight long undies and warm socks. The Helium is part of my "comfortable to 10 F" setup.

Thanks guys. I own the Hydrogen–have for years–and love it; so I know and trust Marmot bags. Thanks for the spadout tip; may go this way. Still, I was curious about this Igneo. Kristin, no in fact I haven't slept in a waterproof bag, so thanks for the heads up. My Hydrogen shell has always worked great with any condensation issues; just thought that wp might work better "just in case".

Edit: yeah I pulled the trigger on the Helium. Thanks Eric; Moosejaw has a great price. Now my bank account is "good" to fifteen degrees above zero.
