What is the normal life span for a Gossamer Gear Nightlight sleeping pad before it is no longer comfortable due to compression?

It depends on your definition of "still usable and comfortable"…but mine is looking pretty squashed after one 5 month A.T thru hike. I picked up another one (still use the old one for backpack frame and foot mat – but use the new one for my torso mat..)

yeah I have two torso sized. I dont know that I would term them comfortable, more like tolerable. Mine have about 15 nights on them, no real degradation I can tell, except that straps and such have left permanent indentions in them.

What I recall old reviews said, is about one month continuous use and you will notice some compression.

Ask the history of which foam they use. Seems in the early days the foam was more durable. I have an early one and it is still going strong after at least 4 years.

I have one that has at least 30 days/month on a 2006 model. I never cared for it on a hard wood floor, like a lean-to. But it is great on forest duff. Only the edges have really lost their loft so far with about 1/2" over 5 layers near the center.

I just recently started using one again. Switched out from a Neoair. Just got tired of inflating and especially deflating it. Haven't had any problems with sleeping on it, even in shelters. I have noticed that it is has compressed a little.
