Rab Infinity and Westcomb Kokanee Size and Fit

I'm nowhere near your size for what that's worth.

Given that, I have a small Infinity Endurance and find the fit to be the same as other Rab products. I do have some room under it but the most I've worn thus far has been a light wool base layer and a Paramo Vista. My wife has the Kokanee in a women's medium and it fits her like most other American mediums.

It's worth noting that Rab and other European clothing runs smaller than American clothing. Honestly, it's that American clothing runs large but I'll save that one for another time. :-)

what is yr weight … and what is yr intended use ….

i weight 160-170 lbs, am 5'7 … and the kokanee medium fits me perfectly fine with a fleece underneath

Chris, thanks for the quick reply and info! Since you are familiar with both jackets, any preference for one or the other? Warmth is more a factor for me vs. the weight difference between the two… Westcomb doesn't post their fill weight but based on similar weight, similar shell material and fill, I'm guessing its comparable?

Eric, I'm about 185 lbs give or take a couple… My primary use (Other than a general winter coat) would be day hikes in New England – maybe an overnight here or there and some climbing/belaying but that's not the primary purpose.

I haven’t actually worn both but I’m pretty sure the Kokanee is not as warm as the Rab. Richard N. said it has an Iclo of 3.22 which should be thermo-neutral to around 20-25F or so with normal layers and while sitting and talking. I don’t remember the Iclo of the Infinity but Richard told me it should be good (same conditions) to around 14F. The shell on the Infinity Endurance is better suited for sitting around in snow without a hard shell on top of it (if that matters to you).

Eric's review was great and was the primary source of my info for the Kokanee… had a tough time finding others. Had better luck with the Rab including the one you wrote up!

Ed yr a borderline med/ large … The kokanee is a bit oversized so you can likely go either one

Edit … If yr going to climb with a lotta layers at belays large would be better …

Personally id call the mec service centre and ask for the mec reflex … Its a tad heavier around 26 oz but has expedition weight 14 oz 800 fill … They are not on the site but i think i saw a large 2 days ago at the mec vancouer store

Eric, thanks for the recommendation on the MEC Reflex… I did come across that jacket when I was going through the various reviews. I had crossed it off the list because I thought it was a discontinued model since it wasn't on the MEC site but may need to revisit it…

Hi, you mentioned that your wife has the Kokanee! I am debating beweteen the womens Kokanee and the Rab Neutrino Endurance. What does she think of her Kokanee?
