Another Climashield Apex 2.5oz + Momentum M90R MYOG :
A cord + cordlock is used to close the top of the beanie.
With cordlock open I could use it as face cover or neck warmer.

How is, quite literally, the breathability when over your face? Is it stifling or still pretty airy?
Feb 16, 2012 at 9:21 am #1840196exactly ! just a little bit shorter than a buff.
I found it pretty breathable, after some minutes I got a vapor screen on my glasses, but just a little bit on the Face Cover inner.Comparing with a buff, vapor screen also appear with a buff.
But in winter (-20°C this Saturday) the buff was totally frozen… my Face Cover doesn't :)Feb 16, 2012 at 9:40 am #1840205Great great work! I am so making one of these.
Feb 16, 2012 at 10:02 am #1840217Nice work as always, and great idea for scraps.
Feb 16, 2012 at 12:58 pm #1840297I've made a few quilts now with the 2.5 and 5 oz Apex and have been trying to figure out what to do with the scraps from them. I really like this idea. Thanks for sharing.
Feb 16, 2012 at 2:01 pm #1840333Very nice. I did some quick estimates and I'm guessing it should weigh around 1oz.
Is that the final weight you got? If so that's half the weight of the wool buff yet warmer and less icing issues. Not bad!
Feb 16, 2012 at 2:11 pm #1840339Weight exactly 30g so 1.06oz :)
