I'm seconds away from ordering a 0 degree quilt (revelation x) from enlightened equipment. The only thing stopping me is I can't decide on the stupid colors. I'm usually a very decisive person, but for the life of me I can't decide on a color.

For those that have ordered this quilt, what color scheme did you go with? For those that haven't what would you go with if you were ordering? – choices are black, blaze orange, olive/dark brown, and green (which has two light gray lines running through it – still nice color though).

hehe i know the dilemma. I chose orange on the outside because it is my favorite color and black on the inside for aiding in drying.

Samuel, I'm not even kidding. Two weeks ago I ordered two X quilts and they are orange on the outside and black on the inside!

I've also started making a groundsheet for my quilts. It has a cupped footbox with side walls about 10" high to keep the feet in and drafts out. I'm going to add two linelocs, one near the knees and one near the stomach which will allow me to cinch up the side walls. The head end is pretty much open and flat like a regular ground sheet. Sort of like a bivy minus the top section, but with sides. It's 30D silnylon and will come in at around 4.5 ounces. Nothing extraordinary, but it's my first real MYOG project and it should meet my needs. I don't need a real bivy because I'm always under a tarp. I think I'm going to call it something corny like the "Draft Dodger Groundsheet." :D

Black if you're interested in quick drying. Mine was made with the green seconds and it took me some time to actually find where the 2 gray lines were. That's how faint they are. It's a very nice color. Orange may come in handy if you get lost and need search and rescue to come get you

Travis,

That's an interesting idea on the groundsheet. That sounds like a good idea to add some extra warmth inside a net tent too. What do you think the final weight will be?

Tyler,

That's good to hear. I really want green and but was put off a little by lines. If they are that faint then I think I'll probably go with that. Doesn't sound like they are very visible. Did you get your quilt all green?

Heath,
I'm making two of them, one for me and one for the wife. It'll come in around 4.5 oz. I finished cutting one and am waiting for more material so I can simply trace rather than measure again. I'll probably post some pics in the MYOG section when its finished.

Travis,

Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to seeing the pics

Yeah they are barely noticeable on mine. I got mine when he first did that deal offering using the nylon seconds so mine is all green. I love it. Mine is the wide 20 degree quilt and I have been toasty in a bivy with just midweight baselayers on down to 20 which is saying something as I am a very cold sleeper. Of course wearing appropriate headgear

I ordered Green on the outside and brown on the inside. I like earth tones. Wasn't too concerned about the lines at the price reduction they were offering for the quilt. Can't wait to receive it!

Tyler, did you get the 30% overfill? I also got a 20* but with the extra down.

I believe during the first run that was offered back in October, Tim said he was over-stuffing them by 30%. To get an idea of how cold a sleeper I am, I used to have a WM Summerlite and I would have to add my puffy clothes once the temperature got to the lower 40s.

I just ordered a wide 20 degree with the overfill. Black inside with brown outside. I'm so psyched for it!

Alright, so I finally ordered. Green on the outside and brown on the inside. 0 degree overstuffed. Now, with the warm temps I'm not sure I'll even have the chance to use it until next winter but I'm still super stoked!

Mine is all green, and the seconds really are tiny.

It's a little funny having a quilt that's the same color on the inside and outside, I think I'd recommend against that (but then again, I didn't really get a choice and couldn't say no to the price).
