I'm planning a trip over spring break in April with my son. We are located in Southern California and anywhere within ~300 miles will work. I typically hike in the Sierras during the summer, but snow will be a limiting factor for this trip. We are looking for a route that doesn't require bear canisters and we like to fish. My son can cover about 10 miles and one significant ~2000' pass each day. Any recommended routes?
