I'm taking a group of boys up to make igloos in the White Mountains in a couple of weeks and would like to find a camp site that will allow a carefully contained fire. While we can certainly do without, a fire is nice for youth who don't have a lot of winter experience and are guaranteed to get a bit damp.
I had hoped to camp at the Lafayette campground but fires are apparently not allowed. Any other recommendations?
