Anybody know some good backpacking trails in Mendocino? Google is not giving me much here. Hopefully a place that isn't incredibly difficult to get to with a commuter vehicle.
Feb 15, 2012 at 5:12 pm #1839987For Mendo, I like the Snow Mountain Wilderness. Check out the Snow Mountain Hiking Association's website for some good info on directions and trailhead maps. They also have a couple of annotaded topo maps that you may find useful. The last trip I did there was from the Crockett Camp TH to Milk Ranch Meadow, hitting the Middle Fork Falls on the way. Very cool area and if you're looking for solitude, you'll definitely enjoy this area.
Update: a couple of photos
