I plan to do a one day summit of Mt Charleston in late May this year. I have read up about it and am thinking I will do the South Loop Trail. I understand it's about a 12 hour round trip, strenuous hike.

Any advice on temperature/weather that time of year? How much water to carry (I read there is no water sources), any advice? Clothing suggestions?

Thanks

Depending on the weather there could still be snow on the mountain in May. You might want to send a PM to Eric Blumstead, he knows that area well.
