Inflating NeoAirs

I use an exped pillow pump. Had some large tubing for my fish tank filters that I modded to attach one end to the pillow Pump and the other to the nozzle on the pad. Works great almost no extra weight as I use the pillow anyway. Could also go the instaflator route.

the newer neoair all season i got comes with a stuff sack that doubles as a inflator, however its pretty small and takes a while to inflate it with it.

i also got a chance to check this out. its huge, and you can turn your neoair into a stool with it, and i bet it will fill up a regular neoair in 2-3 fills, instead of 30+ fills with the small bag that came with the all season neoair. its kind of heavy though, although that depends on if you'll actually use it as a pack liner or a chair, which will make it worth the weight

although its $30 for a stuff sack, which is ridiculous. why does everything in the neoair line have to be so stupid expensive.

I use a similar technique as the instaflator. I take a simple garbage bag, swing it around so that it fills with air, clamp the opening of the bag around the neoair's valve with my hand and then squeeze the air into the mat. You may have to repeat this process a couple of times to fill the entire pad, but the advantage is that you don't need as much space as the instaflator. you can easily do this inside your tent.

I have a microburst and like it so far. Was using an instafltor, but like this better. dave

When I got my NeoAir All Season it came with a stuff sack/blow sac thingie which I found to be near useless as my lungs work better. Here's my All Season in action in the mountains of TN/NC—

FWIW… I used a $4 instaflator for 1500 miles on the AT. I still have it and it works AMAZING.

I don’t believe in the 6 months along the AT… I did NOT blow my mattress up once.

The nice people at FeatherCraft (http://feathercraft.com/ ) were nice enough to sell me one of their inflate bags for their inflatable boats. It is basically the same as the packraft inflatebag. I was able to fashion an adapter out of hose for thermarests. Works great. I also use it to pump up my inflatable fishing belly boat as well.

I just received my new Neoair All Season yesterday. I already have the regular version. The All season comes with a stuff sack/inflator, which I tried, and found to be nearly useless. I estimate it would take at least a half an hour to pump it up with that thing. I received an Instaflator today, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. All indications on the internet suggest it works fine. (I saw your youtube Franco) Big Agnes has a stuff sack/inflator called the Pumphouse that I have no experience with.

I got the All Season because I froze my buns off at 20F with a regular Neoair and a GG 1/8th inch pad. I'm hoping the All Season will be significantly warmer.

An inflator? You've got to be kidding!

Never heard of one and it has never crossed my mind that one would need a device to blow up a small mat… maybe a pack raft or inflatable boat. I don't have much experience with air mattresses, I usually use some form of foam mat. But I have used a few air mats over the years. I got a full length NeoAir last year and have used it a few times. Blowing it up is easy. Seems like a inflator is unnecessary weight, and those inflator videos posted sure look like a lot of work themselves.
