Eureka Spitfire UL new model?

Mike, no experience with either one but the Backpacker 2007 Gear Guide (don't get your knickers in a twist, people) names it the "Best Value" in solo tents.

I have the standard Spitfire tent, with two poles. Be aware that this tent slopes off steeply after the poles. I am about 5'9", and the tent is just large enough when I use a Big Agnes insulated pad. My feet and my nose are almost touching the mesh. The UL version only uses one pole. So, I'm guessing that a portion of the tent will be laying on your sleeping bag. I don't know if this matters, but it is something to consider.

OR…you could just get the Tarptent Contrail and have lots of room and features with little weight.

Also check out the Six Moon Designs Lunar Solo. It is another fantastic solo shelter.

A Backpacker a. review of TarpTent's new Contrail would have been nice in their "Gear Guide". Let's hope they do a review this spring or early summer on the Contrail.

As an owner of a Contrail I feel it's a significant tent design.
And then there's TarpTent's famous quality and atention to detail too.

Plus the Rainbow and Double Rainbow are also extremely clever and well thought out designs as well.

UL tents are becoming hot sellers. Let's see a comparison review of several solo or 2 person tents.
