I was wondering if anyone had any better ideas for uses for old wool socks as to who you could give them to or how they can be reused other than gloves and other things because I have enough stuff and want to pass them on. Weirdly enough I have patched them all in my OCD way with those thin jean patches over the holes. Size 11-14.

Buy a dog and give them to him to play with. Or mail them to Doug for his dog :)

I've been consulting Mr. Sokko on all major personal decisions for about 14 years now. Hasn't steered me wrong once.

Though he does have a penchant for malt liquor.

I stuff them with cedar shavings, tie the top, and stick them in boxes of clothing I'm not using currently. Also works in shoes and gymbags.

Mr. Sokko should run for office. Although he should probably stop smoking, for PR reasons.

Get some colored thread and a needle out and repurposed old worn out synthetic sleeping bag insulation and start making SOCK MONKEYS with little backpacks on.

Each SOCK MONKEY has a unique history card of trails they hiked on before they became SOCK MONKEYS. Most important don't wash them so they have the smell and dirt stains of the trail on them. Give them each trail handle names. Sell them BPL gear swap.

Nah, Obama smokes and it didn't hurt his PR, he got elected president :)

I read an article once from someone who'd been homeless for awhile who said the "homeless stink" comes from not changing socks often enough. Smelly socks make for smelly shoes. Part of his secret for street success came from always having a fresh pair of socks.

Maybe your nearest homeless shelter would accept a care package of socks that generally resist stinkyness?

spinning off that baby picture i guess you could cut the toes out of them and make wrist warmers or fingerless gloves?

Cheap stuff sacks that can double as a mess kit rag or pot holder.

Heat packs- throw some rice and essential oil in a sock, sew shut, then warm up in a microwave… quite therapeutic. ;-p
