Douglas-I created a new thread so as to not go off topic with the Pertex retail source thread.

The Patagonia Micropuff outer fabric doesn't appear to be any of the Pertex Quantum variants. The fibers aren't calendared which negates it being a Pertex Quantum variant. Also the weft threads are encapsulated but not the warp threads. Neither thread direction is encapsulated in the Pertex Quantum variants.

The description is "1.0 oz microdernier polyester rip-stop shell…". I found a Pertex Quantum hang-tag with my Micro Puff Pullover description, but the tag may have come from something else. I don't have a microscope, but under a good magnifying glass it doesn't appear that the Micro Puff fabric is calendared. So I withdraw my statement that my Micro Puff is made from Pertex Quantum (but I stand by my comments on its qualities).

My Montane Aero is, as it has a tag (which I have not cut off :) stating, "This garment is made from Pertex Quantum."
