Thanks for the input Stephen! The paint I'm using is rated is engine block paint rated to 2,000*F I think.
So if you are going to paint your pots, keep Stephen's advise in mind.

Could one blacken their pot via wood fires…and not have something that's going to rub off on everything that it touches?
I wonder which wood would work better, a hardwood or a resinous softwood?
