I believe that one thing that can make or break a long hike is a pair of boots. Now usally I do not write a review of products but I will this time. An buddy of mine gave me a pair of Belleville 770 boots (just like the Army issue). I thought that they would be rigid and hard to break in. I did not have to break them in! I learned they have a tennis sneaker like sole that make them comfortable and no break in time. The Gore-Tex liner keeps my feet dryer than anything I have experienced. I have been in water up to my ankles with no trouble. The uppers are a material that conforms to the leg and gives decent support. If anyone else uses Bellevile boots I would like to hear your thoughts.

PS I just realized there was a spot for reader reviews. I apologize.
