I've got my carry weight down to the point that it's time to purchase a UL pack, lopping off at least 2 lbs.
I need a good, tough bushwhacking pack and would appreciate advice based on the following:
1) Must withstand heavy brush and frequent bushwhacking. IMPORTANT!
2) I want a pack that weighs 20 oz or less.
3) 2000 cu in volume is the minimum.
4) max. load including food and water = 21 lbs.
I'm currently looking at the Granite Gear Virga and waiting for a look at the Golite Jam2. Bells and whistles not required though decent comfort at 17 to 18 lbs is.
Is there anything else I should be looking at? Are there tough backs that fit the criteria that go much lighter?
