1) good performance down to -20F – Pretty sure that any conventional headlamp should suffice although, I would sleep with it at night, or keep it in a pocket at this temperature.
2) flood light for camp chores – This headlamp has a flood feature that works amazingly in camp for chores.
3) spotlight for night hiking … 50 yard “range” – my personal requirement for this one is that I need to see to hang a bear line in the dark. This headlamp gets that done for me, personally.
4) rechargeable batteries – Petzl offers the USB rechargeable option that snaps right into this inside of this headlamp. Making it rechargeable and controllable.
5) lightest weight is irrelevant if the previous criteria are failed – Headlamps are pretty light within themselves. Take a good one, and you will be happy.
