Howdy,

So I'd like to use some XPAC for an upcoming project. Anyone know of any way to get this stuff besides rockywoods? I've had nothing but positive experiences with rockywoods, but they're currently out of the dark gray XPAC and this is really what I'd like to use. As of right now, it sounds like they're not sure if they'll be getting any more of it in stock. It seems like I remember threads where folks mentioned getting it from other places…or perhaps I'm imagining things. I believe the stuff I'm looking for is the VX21 – whatever the dark gray and dark blue from rockywoods is. Any insight would be great.

Thanks.

Ordered some wasabi colored Xpac from RW. It is VX07, has to be, based on 4.9 osy (ounces per square yard) weight. The light color is not so bad, pleasant, and with a bit of earth tone in it. It is the most WP pack fabric I've seen, and certainly looks durable, but have no objective evidence either way.

Have not been able to find WX07, over an ounce lighter.

Zpacks sells the Cuben/Nylon Laminate from CT in tan and black at under 3 osy. Laminatng nylon to thicker PET with the dyneema matrix certainly ought to produce something as good as or close to Xpac. Ordered a yard, and will use it instead of the Xpac, if it seems sturdy enough, to save a couple ounces on a pack that will use roughly one sy. Unlike ordering material for tents, the one square yard did not set me back in the hundreds, so seemed like a worthwhile investment in something sight unseen.

The only other place to get it is dimension polyant. They typically make the stuff to fill large custom orders, but they do often have limited supplies in stock that they will sell by the yard. There is a $20 cut fee which makes it 'spensive to buy just a yard or two. I contacted them recently and they are expecting to have some red and gray in soon. If someone wants to put together a group buy I will take a couple yards. I can send you the email they sent me with prices and inventory.

That would be great if you could forward me that email Thomas. I'll pm you with my address.

I would be in for a group buy on a bit of the Dyneema x-pac in a group buy situation!

I'd be in for some red if anyone is going to order it. 5 yards if the price is the same or less than rockywoods. If grey ends up being the only color ordered, I'll take 2 yards.
