Slippery bivy

You could probably put some lines of sil-net seam sealer on the inside of your bivy. This would prevent slipping. BTW, how do you like the new bivy? I'm thinking of ordering the "basic" in Large w/ the headnet. Please let me know.

Rather than applying anything to the mattress, you may want to paint some stripes of silicone sealer on the floor of your bivy. I’ve not tried this, but I’ve seen it recommended for dealing with slippery silnylon floors on more than one occasion (I believe this is how Henry Shires recommends dealing with slippery tarptent floors). Alternatively, you might want to try Jim Woods’ silnylon floor treatment.

Ditto on Ernie's recommendation for Jim Wood's treatment. I've used it on both my Tarptent and on my Equinox bivy; and it makes a huge difference in reducing slipperiness without adding any significant weight.

At least for me, Jim's treatment worked much better than the silicon dots or stripes that are often recommended.
