On the front page of "backpackingLight" it says that there is a "M-Life Exclusive".
What is it?

The MLife Exclusive is a growing series of education videos on UL Backpacking.
Here is a description listed once you have access to the MLife material:
"ULAZ" is a video series developed by BPL Member Hendrik Morkel, and sponsored by Backpacking Light (Executive Producer). The first episode will be released during the week of November 28, 2011, and as a benefit for Backpacking Light Lifetime Members, you'll have access to the HD version of this series for no charge as part of your membership. Episodes will be posted here as they are released by Hendrik! Enjoy!
At this time there are two videos out covering A = for alcohol stoves and B = for bivies.
They are well done and I found them entertaining.
Good video quality of Hendrik talking to you about the different subjects….pro & cons, as well as demonstrations. Does not hurt that the music is nice too.
If you are familiar with Hendrik, he is a regular here and has been posting links to his website where he has been interviewing gear manufactures of UL gear to find out how they started their business, the creative spark or idea that got them to start their business, how their business and product offerings grew, and where they see the future of their business going in relationship to UL becoming more main stream.
Great articles…in particular, I loved the article on the maker of the Bush Buddy…enough for me to get one and simply to enjoy knowing about all the work that went into bringing that product to market.
Here is a link to the series of interviews that he has posted/linked on the forums.
Anyway, the point being is that Hendrik does great work and these series of videos is the next step in his evolution of exploring UL Backpacking and sharing his knowledge with us.
Hope this helps.

Dec 16, 2011 at 5:19 pm #1813051Do note that these videos will be posted on YouTube and Vimeo in January, free to all. So the big prize consists only in getting to see them a month in advance. Assuming you have time in the midst of holiday preparations….
