Anyone have any experience with Cabela headlamps. Looking at a Cabela's Alaskan Guide XG Green Model. 70 lumens, 90 hr run time.

Do you really want a green light because you could get many more lumens for the money? Checkout Zebralight, Fenix and Spark.

I'm limited to Cabelas…got a gift card. This lamp is $49.99. 70/15 lumens, 90/120 hrs runtime. Any recommendation on a light that is under $50 that has maximum light output and maximum runtime from Cabelas.

That headlamp is very heavy and overkill. I understand you have a gift card, but good headlamps can weigh <1-3 ounces instead of 8. Personally, I'd look to see if there were anything else I'd need instead of this headlamp.

Maybe some base layers? socks? balaclava? hat?

If you MUST get a headlamp, I'd go for the PT REMIX.

The green is used to minimize your visibility to others, actually a pretty cool beam it throws, but that unit is a heavy one that's intended for folks that can handle the weight in exchange for the really long burn times and the big punch it throws. That's a nice unit, but it does seem heavy for backpacking… too gnarly for me, and I use a big old 2xAA light marketed by Coleman. (I also like run-time).

In your price range, Cabelas does have a couple of Princeton Tecs that are way lighter and really pretty darn good lights:

That's the sale page link
