Finally put all my 2nd hand pieces together for my ULC/SP 700 kit for 2.

My folding Ti spoons and mini bic go into the top of the cuben sack I made for it.
The cup is an SP double wall and I am making a insulation sleeve for the SP700.

two boils make our freezer bag meals and hot drinks.

Individual weights are:

SP700 – 4.9 OZ

SP 450 DW Mug – 4.2 OZ

ULC Cone @ 21 gm / .74 OZ

12-10 stove – 16 gm / .56 OZ

Fuel Btl – 16 gm / .56 OZ

2 Ti folding spoons – 34 gm/1.1 oz

Mini Bic – .40 OZ

Cozy ?? 1 OZ

Total is around 13 OZ

Compared to the 2lbs 7 oz of my GSI Dualist with full canister and Gigapower stove!

Great stove. I love my CC Sidewinder.

But… a tall pot is less efficient than a wide pot and titanium is not nearly as good at transferring heat as aluminum. So your pot choice must be based on something other than thermal efficiency.

I wanted two mugs to drink out of without having to bring them as additional items to my pot.

If anyone has a good set up for two people PLEASE POST IT!

Feel free to hijack : )

"If anyone has a good set up for two people PLEASE POST IT!"

Not sure if it qualifies as good, but my setup for two is currently a 1.3 liter backcountry.com titanium pot with home made pie pan lid (4.7oz) plus two 1.5 cup plastic mugs (1.8oz each) I got at REI for about $2 or $3 each. We use a canister stove for longer trips and recently started using a home made cat can stove with aluminum foil windscreen for weekend trips. With the bigger pot we only need one boil for our meals and since we use a steripen it can be used as a container to treat a liter of water. The downside is that is doesn't pack down to a tidy little package like your setup. Speaking of which, is the trade off between tall pots and wide pots basically packability and using as a mug more easily vs. efficiency or are there other factors I'm not thinking of?

For me it is (right now anyway)

I know I could put a lighter cup than the Ti double wall but I have never had one and want to try it out. got a great deal on it here.

I have a number of set ups. I have a GSI Kettle, SP1400, Caldera Keg Set/Heineken model,
a GSI Dualist, and this one that I am going to try for a while because I want something small. I have a bunch of different alc stoves and canister stoves and have mostly use a white box from when they fist came out. I like the 12-10 a lot.

Your set up sounds good… it's got me thinking.

UPDATE: The folks at Trail Designs noticed that I have an aluminum ULC and offered me a deal to upgrade to a Ti (SWEET!) I am going to get the inferno for it.
Thanks Rand your awesome!

Nice 450 DW mug ya got there fellow;-)

Any thought to removing the handles on it since hot hands is not a worry? Might count down half an ounce or so (an esbit tab).

aloha,

Chase

I got the Ti ULC w/ Inferno and simmer ring and it all fits perfect.

I made two Ti cross bars out of Ti welding rod that fit in the 700 between the cup.

I can also fit 1-2 paper insulated coffee cups instead of the Ti doublewall.

I like this set up a lot and a big thanks to the folks at Trail Designs for the upgrades.

If you have an alluminum ULC let them know.

Cheers,
Craig
