SALE PRICE ON REMAINING 2011 NEWTS
$65 – IN STOCK NOW AND READY TO SHIP
Current 2011 Newt That is On Sale
DISCLOSURE: We will be releasing the 2012 NEWT in a few days – the major change is the addition of a wrap around front mesh pocket.
Get a a super deal on the current NEWT while they last…The one difference on these last few Newts is the change to a LineLock buckle for the roll top that saves some weight. That buckle will be on the 2012 Newts too.
Folks may remember our plans mentioned over the last months on " PlaceNook" for the 2012 NEWT aka "Son of Newt" aka " Marsupial" aka " NewtDaddy"
Note that the NEWT and most all MLD Packs use the very durable and strong 210d Dyneema X ™.
Dyneema X:
210d nylon ripstop
9% Dyneema content by weight
Nylon X Pattern Abrasion Over Weave
Medium weight PU WaterProof inner coating and DWR outside coating
About 4.2oz sq/ydAnother fabric that looks a lot like the Dyneema X in a web picture is coming out on some packs by another company soon and multiple websites and blogs – including posts on BPL- have confused the two fabrics as the same.
To make the distinction clear- that fabric is:
140d nylon ripstop
6% dyneema by weight
Plain Weave
Light weight PU inner coating
About 3.2oz sq ydThe 210D Dyneema X is over twice as strong and abrasion resistant as that second fabric.
Small packs use only about 1 sq/yd of primary body fabric.
Dec 7, 2011 at 2:34 pm #1809799Thanks, Ron! I was thinking about grabbing a Newt for an around the office and town bag (not to mention SUL sack). I appreciate the sale!
