An REI salesperson told me he had success with better boiling times in a 1.5 L. JetBoil pot over his regular Ti pot. I got a JB "large" 1.5 L. pot and found he was correct.
The JetBoil's nepoprene cozy and corrugated bottom edge "Flux Ring" heat exchanger DO make a difference over my old standby 1.5 L. Backerpacker's Pantry aluminum pot. AND the pot supports on my MSR Wind Pro canister stove fit nicely in the Flux Ring corrugations for better stability. I removed the wire handles on the JB pot because they interferred with my MSR windscreen. I use an UL pot gripper instesd.
It appears the pot, with its neoprene cozy and bottom Flux Ring, is the heart of the JetBoil system and I know from other's experiments a wider pot heats faster than a tall skinny pot, like JB's original solo stove pot.
