I'm curious as to opinions concerning fabrics, specifically types such as Epic, Pertex, or other breathable fabrics for an underquilt?
I envision a Primaloft insulation layer between one of this type of fabric, and possibly one of 1.3oz/yd 'Heat & Solar Reflective' ripstop silnylon (as either the outer or face fabric).
Will the 'Heat & Solar Reflective' fabric be more efficient as a face fabric facing the underside of the hammock? Or would it perform better being on the outside of the quilt? Is it worth the 'extra' weight of this fabric for the purported 'thermal benefit'? Does anyone know the 'hand' or stretch, durability, waterproofness, etc of this fabric? It's pricey to me @$17/yd.
I read the thread,'UL Cold weather Hammock Pad' on 12/19/06; and absorbed as much information as I could from there without confusing myself.
Thanks Gene
