Does anyone own the GoLite Spandex shorts? Do they fit well? Are they breathably enough for warm conditions? do you like them? Thanks

I own a pair of MEC Surge shorts. Same as the Golite one's but less than half the price – $17 cdn. I wear them as my base u/w layer in the winter. I might use them for the same reason on my 2007 PCT hike, but am not sure yet. They breath well, move well, and feel great next to skin.

Thanks, They seem almost identicle and much cheeper. Are the multiple seams awkward? I also plan on using them to reduce thigh chaffing, do you think that they are long enough? I really like the price at $15 + shipping in US dolars.

The seams have been no trouble for me. The length is about the same as a pair of bike shorts – they come down to just above the knee.

Hope this helps.

The surge shorts do look good. Are they true to size, or do they run big or small? I've been using New Balance running shorts which work well for me. Been thinking of trying shorts like this made in fine merino wool. Anyone used wool boxers? And if so do you like them? –Mike
