I know these are two different types of jackets. The Diez has a baffle construction and 900 fill down. The Montbell has a hood, sewn through construction and 800 fill down. Both of these jackets weigh very similarly. Both around 10 oz in the size I would choose. Price aside, I wanted to know some opinions on these jackets and what one would serve better in a sleep and camp system for 3 plus seasons and possibly 4th season.

I received the new Diez 900 full zip jacket as a birthday gift. I have not tried it outdoors yet, but warmth-wise it seems to be comparable to my Montbell Alpine Light Down parka (if not wearing hood) which is 800 fill power garment. The latter is warmer than the inner parka you are referring to.
